The Art of Suicide

Suicide,
has never been so beautiful.

Recently,
There are TONS of news on the Alviss Kong's incident.
Suicide is now a hot topic everywhere.
I dont know,
many retards are creating retarded pages on facebook,
counting down to suicide. WTF.
This reminds me of a brilliant song.
I'm gonna share the song to everyone and explain the meaning behind it.
Be sure to read this post entirely before you even plan to drop some stupid comments.

Here come the songs.

Emilie Autumn - The Art of Suicide

Acoustic Version

Lyrics :
The art of suicide
Nightgowns and hair
Curls flying every which where
The pain too pure to hide
Bridges of Sighs
Meant to conceal lover's lies
Under the arches
Of moonlight and sky
Suddenly easy
To contemplate why
Why...

Why live a life
That's painted with pity
And sadness and strife
Why dream a dream
That's tainted with trouble
And less than it seems
Why bother bothering
Just for a poem
Or another sad song to sing
Why live a life
Why live a life

The art of suicide
Pretty and clean
Conveys a theatrical scene
"Alas, I'm gone!" she cried
Ankles displayed
Melodramatically laid
Under the arches
Of moonlight and sky
Suddenly easy
To contemplate why
Why...

Why live a life
That's painted with pity
And sadness and strife
Why dream a dream
That's tainted with trouble
And less than it seems
Why bother bothering
Just for a poem
Or another sad song to sing
Why live a life
Why live a life

Life is not like Gloomy Sunday
With a second ending
When the people are disturbed
Well they should be disturbed
Because there's a story
That ought to be heard
Life is not like Gloomy Sunday
With a second ending
When the people are disturbed
Well they should be disturbed
Because there's a lesson
That really ought to be learned

The world is full of poets
We don't need any more
The world is full of singers
We don't need any more
The world is full of lovers
We don't need any more...

If you find this to be a stupid song, you might want to continue reading.
If you can sense the sarcasm in it, CONGRATULATION !

This song seems to be encouraging suicide, however, it DOESN'T.

This beginning is about how the people in the Victorian Era fascinated and glamourised "suicide".

"The art of suicide
Nightgowns and hair
Curls flying every which where"

People from the Asylum jumped off from the bridge,
nightgowns, hair and curls were falling down everywhere.
(you might want to google out what an Asylum is)

From the 1st verse to the 2nd chorus,
it all looks as if Emilie Autumn's glorifying  the beauty of suicide.

But HOLD ON.
Take a look at this phrase

"Life is not like Gloomy Sunday
With a second ending
When the people are disturbed
Well they should be disturbed
Because there's a story
That ought to be heard
Life is not like Gloomy Sunday
With a second ending
When the people are disturbed
Well they should be disturbed
Because there's a lesson
That really ought to be learned"

I believe that everyone knows this song - Gloomy Sunday
Billie Holiday did a cover of "Gloomy Sunday" the song
by a Hungarian composer which allegedly made many people commit suicide.
Billie Holiday added on to the song with a "second ending"
so that people would be less likely to commit suicide: (Quoted)

The second ending of Gloomy Sunday :
Dreaming, I was only dreaming
I wake and I find you asleep
In the deep of my heart here
Darling I hope
That my dream never haunted you
My heart is telling you
How much I wanted you
Gloomy sunday

From EA's song

"Life is not like Gloomy Sunday
With a second ending
When the people are disturbed"

Yes, when someone commits suicide and dies,
there's no return, there's no "seconding ending" in life.

"When the people are disturbed
Well they should be disturbed
Because there's a lesson
That really ought to be learned"

Life's full of hardship. People have to be "disturbed" and upset,
in order to become stronger, in order to better understand the world.

Lastly,
"The world is full of poets
We don't need any more
The world is full of singers
We don't need any more
The world is full of lovers
We don't need any more..."

This part is just being sarcastic.
Poets, Singers and Lovers are the groups of people who are most likely to commit suicide.
(As in the case of Alviss Kong?)

So...Think twice before jumping off of the bridges lol.

  1. But seriously if he want to jump off a high place, maybe he should try bungee jumping. Please, it's not a joke to play with his life just because of one moment of breakup. He's a fool. His emotion ate him up whole... =.=
